JOY BOUWMEESTER - MUSICAL THEATREJoy Bouwmeester started taking acting lessons at age 10. She has worked for the City of Kamloops, championing theatre class through Parks and Rec, as well as the Kamloops Art Council. In 2003, she and a group of fellow actors started the free children’s summer theatre, which still continues today. Joy has a long history of both competing and coaching students for the Kamloops Festival of Arts. Her last show was Canadian Cabaret, with the BC Living Arts, which she both acted in and co-wrote. Joy took Theatre at both TRU and UBC, studying both the Stanislavski and Neutral Mask methods. She brings a wide range of styles to her classes. Joy is the assistant creative director for the Kamloops Thompson Children’s Choir. Joy is also a certified teacher, and works at Kamloops School of the Arts as well. She is thrilled to be joining the Dance Gallery Team!

Jennica Alpaugh grew up dancing and taking music lessons. She competed and specialized in Contemporary dance and piano. She began teaching dance and music to preschool students and transitioned these skills into elementary schools. Jennica currently teaches 3-7 music, choir and classroom integration at Kamloops School of the Arts. She has directed the Kamloops Thompson Children’s choir for the past 10 years. Jennica completed her Orff Level 3 with Doug Goodkin at the San Francisco Orff School and has completed her first 40 hours of study in Dalcroze Eurhythmics through the New York Dalcroze association. She is passionate about making dance education accessible to music and classroom teachers and frequently workshops for music and dance teachers provincially. Jennica has directed and choreographed a number of musicals locally and looks forward to working with the staff and students at The Dance Gallery.
